About
Margaret’s passion for food and cooking was nurtured from an early age, growing up in suburban Melbourne as the daughter of Maltese migrants. Her parents grew much of their own produce, filling the family table with fresh, seasonal food and sharing the harvest generously with relatives and neighbours.
Her love of baking was encouraged not only by her parents (her dad was known for his Sunday afternoon scones!) but also by her aunties who lived nearby. Auntie Georgina, in particular, always had something delicious on the stove and a cake tin brimming with biscuits ready to share.
Today, Margaret brings that same spirit of abundance, simplicity, and joy to her cooking. She believes food should be fresh, uncomplicated, and above all, something you truly love to eat.
Hi, I’m Margaret
My intention has always been to keep things simple and fresh — not just in the food I cook, but in the conversations we share.
Conversations that often begin right here, in my kitchen.
It’s funny how ideas evolve. What started as a plan to create a space purely focused on helping people get the best from their new cooking appliances — especially learning to use the steam functions in their ovens — slowly grew into something more personal.
My Inspiration
After more than twenty years of running appliance cooking classes, I’ve realised that while people love learning about their ovens and cooktops, what they enjoy most are the stories, the everyday tips, and the practical questions like, “What can I make with what’s already in my fridge and pantry?”
That’s where my heart lies — sharing ideas, adapting recipes to the seasons, and celebrating the joy of cooking simple, beautiful food to share with the people we love.
I hope you enjoy this space as much as I have enjoyed creating it.
